Coarse Lake Overview

Press Manor Coarse Lake is a peaceful 3.0 acre mixed fishery in stunning Peak District surroundings, with its own entrance, 32 pegs, safe parking and good disabled access.

The lake is well known for winter bags of bream, roach and specimen perch over 3lb, while summer fishing produces carp, roach, bream and barbel.

For specimen anglers, the lake is often described as a runs water, with common and mirror carp to over 20lb, plus a small number of ghost carp.

Prices and Opening Times

Day tickets are available on the bank or via the Swimbooker app, with night sessions booked in advance.

  • Day Ticket — £7.00.
  • Additional Rod — £2.00.
  • Concessions — £6.00
  • Evening Ticket — £6.00.
  • Night Session (2 rods, pre-booked) — £15.00.
  • Non-fishing Overnight Guest — £2.50.
  • A second rod may be used for an additional £2.
  • Night fishing must be booked in advance using the Swimbooker app. 
  • Match Bookings
    • Matches can be booked by phone.
    • Options range from booking one side of the lake to the whole lake.
    • Pegging fees are £5.50 per peg, with fishing times to suit your club.
    • Breakfast bookings are also available by arrangement

Open all year from dawn until dusk.

Day tickets are available on the bank from 7:00am until dusk, seven days a week.

Evening ticket times vary seasonally and are based on 5 hours before dusk.

Coarse Fishing Rules

Please follow our coarse lake rules to protect fish welfare and keep the lake safe for everyone.

  • All fish must be returned immediately and carefully
  • Landing nets, keep-nets and unhooking mats must be bone dry before fishing
  • Keep-nets are permitted only when dry, but no carp species may be placed in nets
  • Barbless hooks only
  • No hooks in floating bread,  No nuts or beans.
  • Park responsibly and drive at a maximum of 5mph.
  • No radios, open fires, disposable BBQs, swimming or heavy drinking.
  • Bivvies only, no tents
  • If fishing opposite another angler, cast no further than halfway across the lake.
  • Night tickets must be booked in advance.
  • Maximum 2 rods.
  • No lead core, braided main line, fixed leads or snag leaders.
  • No fish in sacks.
  • Large landing nets and suitable mats required.
